Commanding chat in Crowfall

Hey Crows,

It's Max again, returning to follow up on my previous post about improvements to chat functionality in Crowfall®. There’s a lot we’re excited to tell you about, and we have to start somewhere... Why not chat?

As I mentioned two weeks ago, socializing in our next milestone will be more akin to what you’ve come to expect in MMOs. You’ll be able to create private chat channels and tab between them, add and remove friends, form groups with other players, and more!

This update is intended to help you keep track of all of the commands that will soon be available to you and how to use them.

World

/who - Shows a list of all users online.

Private Channels
/channelinvite - Invites a player to your chat channel if you are the channel owner.
/channelkick - Remove a player from your chat channel if you are the channel owner.

We may eventually add the ability to change channel ownership, but not for this milestone.

Grouping
/invite - Invites a player to your group.
/kick - Removes a player from your group if you are the party leader.
/makeleader - Makes this player the party leader if you are the current party leader.
/leavegroup - Removes you from the group.
/disbandgroup - Disbands the group if you are the party leader.

Friends List
/friend - Sends a specific player a friend request.
/accept - Accepts a friend request from a specific player.
/deny - Denies a friend request from a specific player.
/unfriend - Removes a specific player from your friends list.

Ignored List
/ignore - Ignore all messages from this player.
/unignore - Stop ignoring messages from this player.

Direct Messaging/Whispering
/w or /tell - Sends a private message only visible to this player in their Me channel.
/reply or /r - Sends a private message to the player who last whispered you.

The Me channel is a channel that delivers personal updates such as private messages or notifications.

These slash commands are all subject to change at any time, and our user interface is built in such a way that they will not be necessary for most tasks long-term, but they will be important for our next testing phase… More on that later this week.

Thanks for reading! Tell us your thoughts on the forums, and I’ll see you in-game.
